These Exiled Years--Final scene
if you've been paying attention, you'll note on Pat's character sketch that he's afraid of guns. Well throughout the story as shit is hitting the fan both his boss (the head of the irish mob) and his father (An NYPD Detective) want him to carry the gun. He continually refuses, but in the final scene realizes that sometimes to do what's right you have to do something every fiber of your being tells you is wrong. Strange lesson to learn i know, but that's what i like about this story.
